Absolutely gorgeous.

Re: By far...Thanks much Marc. This wasn't even on the agenda for the day but we managed good timing. There were lots of photographers there as well. A polarizer on the Canon really helped too.

Re: Great pics! Thanks Guido. We had great lighting and the puffy sky to help the scene. And yes I was pretty happy with the camera. I remember your fine Mono Lake shots from earlier this year.

Re: Great pics!Yeah, it was a different atmosphere in the winter. The sky was overcast and the light much more gloomy. But the scenery at Mono Lake has something surreal and is photogenic in any season. In any case, great shots from you. Cheers, Guido

Re: Fantastic! Thanks Eric! Good to hear from you. Mono Lake is an extraordinary place. A small inland sea with very salty water at about 6,400' el. below the eastern Sierra east of Yosemite. The towers were formed by underwater deposits when the lake was higher.
And cheers from Marin County in the San Franscisco north bay under fog lifting skies burning off to a nice sunny day.

How...I don't know how you managed to arrange the perfect reflection of the perfect clouds under the perfect lighting, but however you did it, it works! Congratulations on a great shot, and thanks for sharing it with us mortals.

Re: How...You know what Eric? I wasn't feeling too good when we arrived. I just started walking around snapping away with the polarizer on. I didn't even particularly notice the clouds. But I felt better and better with each shot and came away pretty happy.
Thanks for you comment and you have some fine shots in your gallery!

Tibetan skiesFor some reason this wonderful photo made me think of a place in Tibet. I can't recall which one though. Anyway, a really nice shot!
