Overview


Central mountain in Haute Provence Alps.

In winter, Le Cheval Blanc is the most visible mountain when coming to the Alps along Durance Valley. The name of the mountain comes from the long white form it has when it is snow covered.

The mountain has 4 main sides.
- Bléone side, the steepest face other Chanolles village (1350Hm) north oriented
- Draix village side, west
- Asse de Clumanc side, other Tartonne villages, south oriented
- Verdon - Issole side, other Thorame - Basse village (1350Hm) , east oriented

The 10Km long summit ridge has a S-N direction for its southest part and a W - E direction for its northest part
