joined mebo1126 for this hike. views from the top were awesome. we then bushwacked a bit to the peak next to monument peak, where the views were even better.

Fun Adventure
Decided to hike Monument Peak, Garnet Peak and Garnet Mountain today. When McMurdoSound and I got to the summit we noticed another little peak (which we named Spontaneity Peak) approximately a half mile to the north. There was a very informal trail that we followed/bushwhacked to get to the top of that peak. It was well worth it as there was a beautiful view.

Nice views from the top. Right around 1 hour roundtrip.

SDC peak
Part of an 8-peak SDC weekend. <1hr RT, summit not as cool as Garnet Peak, but views here are even better IMO.

From the Desert to the Alpine
Bagged this mountain with Granite Mountain (Anza-Borrego) a couple years back. With the desert views, it gave me an appreciation for the work I just did.

Great Views!
Another cool trip to the Laguna Mountains. First stop was the top of the Palomar Mountains trying to find flowers, then a hike on Monument. No flowers but a great day.
