Wow wow wow! This is one heck of photograph! It looks like you captured moon rise and sunset in a perfect setting. I love the light and shadow both on the landscape and the tree.
A photo to rival your double/triple rainbow with your shadow in its center.
Cheers,
Marc

Re: Wow wow wow! Thanks Marc! You're absolutely right - in both cases I was in the right place at exactly the right time. But while with the brocken spectre there was no way of missing what was going on I captured this one just because I happened to look up when I had crossed a creek bed. A few steps later and the opportunity wouldn't have presented itself ...

Re: Congratulations!Well I only picked up the camera and clicked at the tree at full zoom. Found out what I had done only a couple of hours later when I looked at the shot on my iPad.
Thanks

I join the otherswith the same compliment. Isn't that the grassy slopes over St Lary seen from the town in morning ? classic ! :)
What camera do you use Gangolf ?

Re: I join the othersNo, it's in Piau-Engaly. If you hike towards Port de Campbieil you first have to descend into the valley, the hiking path to the right of the creek, the last ski run to the left. I think I took this picture quite close to the ski lift upon returning, looking up the slopes in the direction of Piau. To the left we had caterpillars droning on the ski run, to the right the ugly ski slopes on Pic de Piau. In between one solitary beech (?) tree with the moon rising beside.
I use a Sony A700 with a Sigma 18-250 mm HSM lense.
Thanks
