Sunset run
A good reminder of that "alpine" feel while I live in Boise.

Skate ski/snowshoe combo
Skate skied to the picnic area, dropped the skis and put on the shoes for the quick 3/4 mile hike to the summit of Mores. Beautiful winter day with about 1/2 dozen others.

Shafer and Mores
Combined Mount Mores and Shafer Butte. Aside from dropping my bags at home, this may have been the first thing I did upon arrival in Boise.

Took the kids on an easy Sunday hike. The littlest hit his highest point yet in the mountains at 6. He was excited.

beautiful fall day
Parked at the Shafer Butte Campground and followed trails/roads in a loop around Mores Mountain. Returned to car and followed easy trail to the top. Great views of the snow-capped Sawtooths far off in the distance. Looking forward to a bit of skiing up here come winter time.

Double Peak with Son
Very enjoyable hike, beautiful day. My Son Tanner and I Did Shafer the day before after a day of him Mountain Biking. Got up in the morning and stashed our big packs and got to the top. Some question on the summit. Is it where the geocache can with a register or the Rock that Idahokid has pictured? We did both just to be safe...

Bushwhacked
I came up from the North because I forgot money to pay with at the trailhead. It turned out to be pretty fun as the route i took was pretty much a class 3 scramble over solid and rotten granite with a nasty bushwhack near the top. I might post a route for it here. The air was smoky until later in the day so the view wasn't that great. Also did Shafer Butte.

Thanks to John and Steve for taking the time to do this one with me. It'd be fun to ski this area in the winter.
