Completed a hike over Mt Abraham and Mt Ellen from Battell Trail trailhead to Jerusalem Trail trailhead with a bike ride shuttle back to car at Battell Trail trailhead. The bike ride up Elder Hill Rd to Battell Trail Trailhead was difficult after the long day's hike and with pack strapped on back. 420 ft of elevation gain over the last two miles up Elder Hill Rd

Foggy hike up Battell Trail
Hiked Battell with my fiancee to the summit. There was a little ring of stones up there that sheltered us from the wind while we stopped for some tea. Nice hike - we'll have to return for the views!

Cool summit
With Flanders. Up from Lincoln Gap. Enjoyed the rocky trail near the summit. Very windy and cold up top though, we hid in the bushes to escape the wind and catch a snack before going on north towards Mt. Ellen. (Over Little Abe, Lincoln, Nancy Hanks, and Cutts on the way there and back.)

BRUTAL!
Don't climb up the ski slope! It's way too steep and you'll just be reeeeaaaly sore later.

Seventy four minutes to the summit from Lincoln Gap. After that I bounced over to Ellen via the Long Trail. Best views of the day here.

Snow was fresh but still packed down thankfully. Was hard to find the trail.
Very nice day, but windy once we got above the treeline. This is an easy hike and great for younger chldren who want to get a nice mountain experience because of 360 degree views.

#1 4000' in Vermont!
A coupla weeks back, I climbed Isolation in the White Mountains NH to complete my list of 48 4000' summits there. As I was about to retire to the couch, and after some fine backpacking in the Adirondacks, I happened upon Mount Abraham. Short and sweet. And so beautiful. So I guess a started a new list. The Bobcat Cafe & Brewery in Bristol was a worthy celebration. Camel Hump is my next interest.
Climbed as part of a 50 miler hike when I was in Scouts.

Chilly Summer Day
It was an unseasonably cool day. Great hike up from Lincoln Gap, summit views were incredible. The clouds were shooting accross the sky. Visited the plane wreck just off the summit too.

clear spring day
hiked up via battell trail. was on top for an hour and a half, and other than two people passing through for about 10 minutes, the peak was all mine the entire time. great views, lots of sun. this is a great time of year to hike, before the black flies, leaves, and tourists come out. just wish i hadn't forgotten the battery for my camera. :(

Mount Abraham
Climbed with Ellen via the Long Trail from Lincoln Gap. Plenty of wildflowers along the trail. Still some patches of snow below the summit. Beautiful views of the Lake Champlain valley from the top. Not a lot of people out today.
