Day Trip From PDX
Door to door from PDX in a little under 14 hours made for a very nice day with great views of the other Cascade volcanoes. Fairly slushy conditions on the slope to Piker's Peak and beyond made it slow going. The glissade was very fun!

Date Night
Took the wife up with some friends. We slept at lunch counter and summited in the clouds, however the glissade was epic!

South Spur
Perfect weather. Gorgeous climb. Best glissading I've ever done. Took us 12 hours round trip.

No snow
Climbed via the South Spur, spent a windy night at Lunch Counter. Should have climbed a month earlier, as so much snow had melted that it was a pain trying to walk up loose gravel most of the way.
Two successful climbs, both on the South Spur route a week apart in July 1984. Fun, fun, fun--although bad weather was coming in, luckily we set out some wands marking the route. Turned out to be vital for the descent on the second trip

Mt. Adams Summit
Climbed it two days ago. Enjoyed this one. Pikers peak without crampons proved to be a enjoyable challenge as I constantly used my ice axe to make steps. Great Glissading! We went down the wrong ridge descending but we were able to correct our path rather quickly.

Beautiful weather
I took three friends up this weekend that had never climbed. It was nearly a perfect climbing day and everyone summitted. We left the parking lot at 3:30 am. and the near full moon lit the trail and the mountain was clearly visible in the moonlight. We had high high winds up to Lunch Counter. It then calmed down and was a beautiful climb. We stayed on top for over two hours because it was so nice. It felt like about 50 degrees. The glissading was great.
