Really enjoyed.......

reading your trip report, Mark. Lots of great photos of a truly wild, Wild Basin. Glad that you were able to make the summit this time around and that we were able to finally have that beer together!! Thanks for making the effort to stop by after your long day!

Wind Rivers next year??

Re: Really enjoyed.......

Thanks Bill! Again, great to finally meet. As for next year...right now it depends on my son's plans, and if they work out it will be the North Cascades. If not, then maybe finally the Winds! I should have a good idea by March. I'll be in touch.

Thanks for the trip report

It brings back memories for me. I climbed Alice in 1974 as a teenager. Remember well traversing very steep snow slopes above the Lake of Many Winds. It was all snow except for the steep gully on the right below Boulder-Grand Pass. What a great climb! Great views of McHenry's and more. Wild Basin is very wild. My guess is that only a few parties climb Copeland each year. Perhaps only a single party or even less climbs Ogallala or Isolation each year.

Re: Thanks for the trip report

Thanks Tom! Glad you enjoyed it. I remember you saying you climbed Alice many many years ago. And Wild Basin sure can be empty. Isolation Peak in 07' was the day we saw no one. Ogallala is probably next on my list back there. Just not sure when.

As for next year, if I make it to the North Cascades - which is highly likely - I'll be in touch. Happy Trails, Mark
