Dayhike
Got a weekday off to enjoy Mission Peak for once. After Mission I cruised over to Allison, fun peak, lots of comm towers and a nice bench to take a rest.

Over from Monument Peak
Started at Ed Levin Dog Park TH, up to Monument Peak, over to the base of Allison, all the while feeling in a surreal world of golden velvet. From the base of Allison, I went straight up the slope, no trail, and as I crested, there it was. The King's bench. In memory of Loren 'Mac' McQueen. I sat on the King of Mt. Allison's bench, wishing I could have a word with him, sit there alongside him, surveying the world below.

Triple Play!
Did a one-way carpool of Monmument, Allison and Monument with a handful of friends. It was the middle of 2010, I think...

At least a couple of times. The earliest was spring 1983. Great view of southern Bay Area.
Edit:
10/25/2015: 3rd(?) time after more than 32 years. This time via the Ohlone Trail from Sunol Wilderness. A really fun hike!

Completed the Trio
Went back determined to get the three peaks (Mission Peak, Mt. Allison, and Monument Peak) and completed without trouble. Easy and enjoyable hike, fantastic views!

Done but where was Monument
Did the Mission Peak - Mt. Allison trek but couldn't find Monument Peak! I'll have to go back to make get the full 3-peak. Good workout for sure, only my second hike (my first was the Diablo 4 summits - I like to challenge myself!)

From Ed Levin Country Park
Solo Sunday hike to keep the legs in shape. Was clear, sunny and warm. A few people on the trails but the heat probably kept most people from ascending the dry sun baked hills today. Had lunch on the bench near the Mt. Alllison benchmark. View of Mt. Hamilton, Diablo, Highland Ridge, Brushy Peak.

With Mission and Monument
Finally made it up Allison, only peak so far that has taken me three attempts, must be the hardest one.
First time was a few years ago and I was 20 yards or so from the top, when I saw a worker sitting on his truck eating lunch about 30 yards away. Decided to return a week later rather than deal with it. When I reached Mission on the return trip, there were at least 1/2 dozen vehicles and twice as many workers, some hanging off the towers... just unlucky I guess.

From Mission Peak
Hiked this one along with Mission and Monument Peaks. Cool and cloudy day. There is a newly dedicated park benck on the summit. I'm not sure the summit is really off limits as long as you stay out of the gated enclosures. The cell towers are kinda bunk.

West Face Direct
Went Charging up the west face with my buddy Brian, hopping barbed wire fences all the way. It was really windy and cold on the the top.
Stayed off the trail because I felt guilty about breaking the law and just meandered up the steep, grassy hills on the East side.
Can't believe I grew up in Fremont and never did this until I was 29. Mission/Allison/Monument is nice little jaunt for those who are in to unspectacular peaks.

Enjoyable trip I made with Al Pine. Also made it to the summit of Monument Peak. It was hard to believe the differences in crowds in a mile of distance. Many people turn back at the summit of Mission Peak, yet the hiking is great south of Mission.
