Mount Appleton

Close up of Mt. Appleton. A route from Cotleton goes through the dark gray Class 3 saddle at far left. Or if wanting to avoid that it is possible to ascend the hour-glass shaped grassy strip to the next col up. It is steep at the top but doable. Or in early season it would be steep snow to 40 degrees. The rest of the way to the top is just scrambling with some exposure here and there. 8/12/17.
