Overnight at Charlotte Lake before exiting via Kearsarge Pass. Just had to climb one more. Nice morning climb from the east side of the lake and keeping just left of the rocky outcropping. Enjoyed the colorful transition in the rock during the ascent and the view up to Forrester Pass.
with lots of snow this year, this peak is tricky. this is the 2nd day of my backpacking trip.
A nice stroll from Onion Valley over Kearsarge Pass while many SC2015 participants were over in the White Mountains. A bit hazy atop the summit and points west due to the Rough Fire, but views were still worthwhile to say the least.
Wow were the summit views incredible!!! With Deb and Kim, we spent an hour on the summit goofing off.
Pretty warm but skeeters weren't too bad. Needed an easy day for knee recuperation. Tagged Bago via traversing the bowl to east ridge then tagged square-bouldered peaklet SE of the summit. Fun Class 4 over there!
Climbed from Charlotte Lake
An enjoyable shoulder season hike. Little to no snow until the north slope leading to the summit. Wondered who left the footprints in the snow. The register revealed they were left by Doug Mantle. His 8th ascent. Remarkable given that he has climbed the SPS peak list 7 times. Guess he is working on 8.
After university on a beautiful day. Nice loop from the robinson lake trail to the KP trail.
Climbed from camp near the JMT junction. The cornice was still there, so we had to climb up the north summit first. Great peak! Beautiful views of the area.
I climbed Bago as an alterate peak on Day 8 of SC 2009. Most of the folks were headed to Deerhorn this day.
Dayhike from Onion Valley tagging Mt. Rixford along the way. Great views from the top of this one.
Perfect weather throughout on a four day outing from Onion Valley. Did a loop from Kearsarge Pass to University Pass grabbing 7 peaks along the way, including Bago and West Vidette on day 2.
