10/2/2013 Part of a ridge run from Devil's Castle to AF Twins. Out and back hike returning to the saddle of Baldy and Sugarloaf and back to the Albion Basin TH.

A favorite hike. Have hiked many times in past, but first time this year as a leg stretcher before work.
15thAugust2014 - Usually I hike Mnt Baldy after having hiked Sugarloaf but this year I'm building my strength and had to seperate the two hikes by a couple of days. Mostly uneventful but saw some deer.
nice view down canyon
Hiked from Snowbird to the summit. Took the cable car down from Hidden Peak. Had the flu and felt sick the entire ascent.
Went up an hour before sunset and did Sugarloaf first. Ran as far as I could up and made it up to the summit of Sugarloaf in about 35 minutes. Didn't see a soul after Cecret lake. I was really impressed with the views from the summit and enjoyed solitude on top...realized the sun was getting low so made a scramble for Baldy and made it over to the summit of Mt. Baldy in under 25 minutes. After chilling in solitude on the summit for 15 minutes or so, I got cold so I bombed all the way back to my car at the Cecret lake trailhead in 20 minutes. Awesome trip...definitely worth doing again as I was really impressed by the views of Timp, Hidden Peak, Pfeifferhorn, Lone, and the Cottonwood Ridge. If you want solitude, get to the summit around sunset time, watch the sunset and then get off the mountain. Good stuff.
Not bad to climb if you've never skied snowbird before. Worth a look.
Hiked up from Cecret Lake TH. Too many people. too much development. It kind ruined the experience for me. I also did Sugarloaf which was also kinda lame. the good thing was I had the actual summit to myself while I was there. i did see others on it before and after I was there. The views were good and so was the exercise but the overall experience was kinda blah.
Strolled away from the hordes around Hidden Peak to the top of this dumping ground and continued on to Sugarloaf.
Combined with Sugarloaf. Thanks to the ski patrol for having the peak serve as their dump. Beautiful views into snowbird with the roads and skilifts. It inspired me to exclusively ski the backcountry from now on and not use resorts. Wildflowers were actually quite amazing.
2nd along the Bullion Divide. Had a wire pole and some emergency ski gear.
#2 - 8/13/17 Bullion Divide
Decided to head over to Baldy after coming up the Ridge Route to Hidden Pk. Fantastic views!!!!!
Not nearly as much snow as when I skied July 1. But plenty, nonetheless. Nice hike.
Both AF Twins, Hidden, Baldy, then off to Alta.

Skied at Snowbird today, and hiked Baldy. I jumped off a cornice at the top, and had spotted the landing, thinking it was going to be soft. Completely wrong. It was harder than Jamie Pressley's abs. And skiing down was like trudging through mashed potatoes. But a beautiful day nonetheless.
Made the traverse over from Hidden Peak to make up for being on Hidden Peak via the tram.

6/30/14 Devil's to South Thunder
Great hike. I left my truck at Snowbird, climbed Sunset peak with family, then climbed Mount Baldy, Hidden Peak, then returned to Snowbird via Gad Valley.
Ascended from Snowbird via Peruvian Gulch, went over and back to Sugarloaf. On the way back met Mooner and we continued on to American Forks Twin Peaks together, he went on, I went back down via Gad Valley to the village and my car.
Climbed up, then down to Mineral Basin, went through the tunnel than down to Octoberfest at Snowbasin. Enjoyed the German band while drinking beer.. after the summit!
