April 7, 2007. It's not to far of a hike in the winter from the Sugar loaf chair at Alta. I did it simply to ski down the main chute, but I sure enjoyed the views.
April 12, 2008 -- did it again, this time I skied down the "shoulder".
April 18, 2008 -- once again, but this time I skied the Little Chute. It was icy, and a bit scary!

Hidden and Sugarloaf, too. A four-fer
Multiple ascents: snow climb 5-1-07 (second time on summit), 7-14-07 (including Sugarloaf), 7-21-07 (same), 8-7-07 part of Alta ridge run from Superior south ridge around the horn to the tram, 6th time today 5-2-08 in snowshoes, Baldy & then Hidden Peak and ride down in comfort! :) #7 7-20-10 W/ ZeeJay (bagged Sugarloaf en route). From Albion Basin. Gorgeous wildflowers blooming right now. #8 5-17-11 W/ Dave from lower Alta parking lot. Just like winter: snow, ice, snowing, wind howling, visibility down to the nubs. Baldy chutes nearing the treacherous category with hard ice covered by 5"-6" new powder. This all makes the experience fun but challenging. #9 6-18-11 Solo. Again via a Baldy chute, one west of the last one. Surprisingly good snow for this date! Tons of skiers, too. Found a Lumix digital camera - anyone know whose it is? #10 2-25-12 From Snowbird; horrendous winds so forget the tram ride down. :( #11 3-13-12 Solo. Once again unforgettable winds, gusting as high as 65 mph. So strong I could not descend to Germania Pass at Alta - had to return to Snowbird over Baldy. Had used the Bird as a lauch point anyway. #12 5-22-12 Solo, from the Bird. Then over to Hidden Peak. At the saddle between the two marched along a thin ribbon of leftover snow most of the way between peaks. Nary a soul in the entire resort. # 13 7-4-13 To celebrate Independence Day - got Sugarloaf, too. #14 & #15 on 7-9-13 & 7-11-13 after Red Top, AF Twins and Hidden Peak. Back to tram for "scenic ride" down! :) #16 & #17 8-27-13 W/ Brent from the Bird to Hidden Pk, Baldy, to Sugarloaf and back to take tram down. #18 & #19 9-17-13 W/ Brent. Same as 8-27 but faster today!. #20 6-30-15 W/Brent after Haystack, AF Twin Peaks & Hidden Peak (via White Pine TH). #21, 22 7-11-15. 1st Hidden, then here and to Sugarloaf and back here. Wild flowers galore. Tolle Gesellschaft muss ich sagen. #23 9-8-15 After hiking to Hidden Peak. Big smoke from Deer Creek area. #24 9-19-15 W/Yz. Rehab hike #2. From tram & back to. #25 5-3-16 Solo after bagging Sugarloaf w/ Brent. 0+36 from Sugarloaf lift to summit, 0+18 back to Sugarloaf lift. Great snow. #26 & #27 8-12-16 w/ Brent & Lana. From Snowbird and with Sugarloaf sandwiched between. #28 8-27-16 W/ Yz. From Hidden Pk and back to Hidden Pk. Tram down. #29 9-23-17 W/ Lana from tram and back to tram. 5" snow, 27 degrees. About 30 minutes each way.

Baldy not Sugarloaf
A month ago I hiked up Sugarloaf thinking it was Baldy. What do you expect? I'm from Georgia. Nice hike. I had lunch on top for 1 1/2 hours chilling out sitting on the rock cairn then back to the Catherine Pass TH to change clothes and off to the airport for home.

The easy Baldy
I was just getting warmed up by this point of the Bullion Divide. I had to jog in spots in order to keep up with Joe and Asher.
Early morning hike with Dan, Matt, and Brent on the way over to the ridge of AFTP.

I travesed over after summiting Sugarloaf from Cecret lake and made the top fairly quickly , I liked the climb and it is great to do with others that may not share as much tolerance for longer harder climbs.

Baldy
Probably the only peak that my wife has ever been on, due to it's easy acces via Hidden Peak. Most recently summited following a traverse from Sugarloaf.

Route climbed: east ridge from top of Sugarloaf ski lift
Jon Tanner and I climbed this with our alpine ski gear and then skied down to the bottom of the northwest shoulder of Mount Baldy where we got escorted the rest of the way down the mountain to the ski patrol office. Lotta hassle, but it was worth it! We were let go with a warning - it was just never made real clear what rule we might have broken.
Route Climbed: Gad Valley/Hidden Peak Date Climbed: Sept. 3, 2005
The aim was to summit American Fork Twin Peaks from Gad Valley, but I got mixed up on the Gad Valley roads, and ended up on Hidden. Turned out to be a good thing, cuz just as we reached Hidden, the rain came down. So, decided to go up the west ridge of Baldy, then down to Alta. Great day! First time in the area.
