Great weather, windy of course. Someone on summit told me the snow conditions reminded him of typical June snow conditions. Made it easier for me :) Headed over to Oxford. 12-hr day with breaks.
From Missouri Gulch TH. Ascended Belford first, over to Oxford, back to Belford, down to Elkhead Pass, down the the trail junction of the standard route for Missouri, summit of Missouri and back to the TH. Great weather all day.
6/20/04 - Standard route, bummed my partner wasn't feeling well and we had to forego Oxford.
6/26/05 - Returned to get Oxford. Standard route.
3/17/12 - An insanely easy winter ascent via the standard route. Drove to the TH. So dry!
1992, with Mike, biked to John's Cabin. Not sure about the date. Came down to some cliffs -- short cut.
As part of a three 14er enchainment
Everything was orange. It was cool.
Started at 3:20 and got to see the sunrise from near the summit. Made it to Ox as well.
The trail is very smooth and there is no talus or scree. This would be a good dog or newbie 14er. I saw four mountain goats.
Bad weather, had to turn around before reaching Oxford.
Cinco de Mayo climb...beautiful day
Solo. Belford was a success but wanted to do the combo of Oxford but the winds were howling and super cold. Winter has finally rolled into the high country.
Did Oxford first, then returned to summit Belford just in time for a thunderous hailstorm that lasted all of 2 minutes.
Unrelenting high winds all day made this hike more challenging than normal. Great day for pics if I could hold on to my camera!#14.
Busy place but it probably gets even worse. One of the best views in the Sawatch.
Easy hike, nice views
Solo. 5 hours 45 mins with an extra half mile + added. Nice run back to camp from the summit of Belford.
Did the standard Belford/Oxford combination in September 1997.
