Very Wind Mt. Bierstadt ascent w/ Xavier
A cold, windy, mostly sunny ascent today. Snow from a storm last night made it slick in spots this morning. Windy.com indicated that the wind speeds at 14,000ft were 46mph around the time we hit the summit. All in all a great day to be outside.

Bierstadt and Evans via Sawtooth
5:18 Added about a half mile by accidentally going towards Spaulding for a bit. Was very boggy and wet in the meadows below the Sawtooth gully, impossible to keep the feet dry. Pretty windy at Evans but awesome conditions!

Like two days before, cold and windy as hell! Beautiful summit, valley and summit views Had a nice conversation with an Engish gentleman on the summit. Climbed with ndriley.

Forgot carrier so carried 3 y.o. Journey to the summit
Realized we left the baby pack/carrier at home just before we got to the trailhead and didn't have time to go back. So I alternated carrying 31 pound Journey on my shoulders and then on my back by putting my arms under her and her holding my shoulders or neck. She fell asleep above 13,000 feet so I had to hold her in one position to just shy of 14,000 when she finally woke up. Arms and shoulders got worked! It was a bit tricky scrambling near the summit while holding her and not having free hands. Made it though and it was gorgeous on top!

Nice hike
Beautiful day in the mountains. Lots of greenery and views.
I know it makes me sound old and grumpy, but way to many dogs and young children on this trail. Parents if your child is under 10 and is crying maybe they really don't want to be there.

Fun Hike
Hiked up Bierstadt and then went to Mt. Evans via the Sawtooth Ridge. Sawtooth Ridge was terrifying. Ended up getting terrible altitude sickness and unfortunately didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have wanted. Would definitely recommend though.

Mt Bierstadt
Nice hike to summit before noon on a beautiful cool and clear July day. In order to get a early start, the night before I slept in the back of my Prius a few miles below the trail head at the Clear Lake campground.
Decent hike, lots of people and if you can curl 5 lbs, drink water, add 2 and 2, dress yourself and sing the first line of Happy Birthday you can tag the summit of this mountain made out of a stack of rocks.

West slopes/ridge
Arrived in Denver for a work trip with an afternoon to spare. Rented a car and arrived at Guanella Pass trail head around 4 pm. The weather was good, so I headed up. 2:38 round trip.
Bagged Bierstadt from the Guanella Pass trailhead. Beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. Approximately four hours round trip. The trail was busy but manageable. Great to say I have a fourteener under my belt!
