What a crazy looking ridge climb with all of that loose rock. The first ascenders were killed on the descent. I'm guessing that this mountain isn't climbed much.

Thanks Gazelle, it is a spectacular area. If you are climbing through, add this King Canyon area to your list. Cheers.

It was a good decision to start posting more pics. The thumbs are looking beautiful. I need to take a closer look when I'll have more time tonight...

Thanks Gangolf, I can see adding this many photos on a technical route, particularly when two sper's climbed it together and have different shots. But some submitters add 40 photos for a scramble and/or walk up...showing a grassy hill from several different perspectives. When that happens, I simply don't have the patience to stroll through the photos and vote for the better ones describing the route, which is what I typically do. I added 20 photos here, Peter 8. Most I have ever added, but it is one long mother of a ridge. Most of the time, I believe 11 photos works damn well. With SP, I am basically offering an alternative to two of our local guide books. Both offer 1-2 black and white photos per mountain. Too many photos equal too much beta for climbers in my opinion and I probably have added too many here. Just my 2c worth, since you and I have been having this healthy conversation. Dank für Ihre Unterstützung als immer, freut, Sie in Deutschland eines Tages zu besuchen. Beifall!

Just wait what will happen to your pages when a second, third or fourth SPer climb the mountains. And people are looking for different things in mountain pages and photos. For you it maybe routes, for me - I have to admit it - it is beauty and overview info as well. Which is the reason why I post these large panos and maps. Other people are only looking for cool shots of the mountains. Just count how many dusk / dawn potws we have had. Alpenglow always steals the show.

Good points all...thank god that the Canadian Rockies are still comparatively remote compared to European peaks. Tourists can't get to the summit of most of the mountains I add. I am definitely on SP for sharing climbing beta, i.e., routes. I understand there are some here wanting to hike and take sunset/sunrise photos. To each his own. I am involved in a project that would separate hiking beta from mountaineering. Of course the same site will have kayaking beta, a mountain bike section, trail running, etc. I can understand how SP is serving a variety of users. Like everything in life, it can always be taken to another level I suppose. Cheers.

Gabriele put it nicely about a year back when he told me that he was too busy in his climbing days to have a look at the mountains. The next wall was the problem and he didn't care about views. He only started seeing things when he started hiking with his kids (Gab, if you read this correct me but that's what I understood). It takes all kinds of people and this site is great because there are climbers like you, the vertical guys like rpc and Gabriele and hikers like me or Vid. It's the mixture which makes SP great. I'm not too sure about the highpointers but who am I to decide?
