Nice winter 14er outing with a group of 8 on a calm, warm day. 11 hour day at a leisurely pace for Decalibron from the winter trailhead just below Paris Mill. These 14ers are now officially open to the public!
Hiked to the summit of Bross along with three other peaks (Bross-Lincoln-Cameron-Democrat-Cameron-Bross combo) from Moose Creek. Great weather, ugly signs of mining here and there.
Part of the trio.
Late November 2008 climb. Nice area with a little snow.
1st summit July 22, 2006
2nd summit February 27, 2010
Part of a 12 fourteeners in 6 days spree.
Windy, Cold, Cloudy, Sunny, Cloudy, Sunny, Cloudy. Great Day in the mountains.
Take care on the descent to Kite Lake. Tons of loose scree
A nice hike, got my friend to the top of his first Fourteener!
Summited with Democrat, Cameron and Lincoln from Kite Lake.
Sign says there is no public access to Bross...yeah, like anybody is going to listen to that! A few Jeeps at the summit. Nice view of South Park form the summit. Just about an hour form summit back down to Kite Lake.
From Kite Lake campground.
TH 5:15, Democrat summit 6:22, Demo-Cam Saddle 7:43, Cameron 8:30, Lincoln 8:50, Bross 9:49, Kite lake 11:15.
Beat the huge crowds by leaving at 5 a.m. on the busy Labor day Sunday. Was funny watching from the top of Lincoln as the herd was heading up Democrat. Nice folks, great weather and some idiot has a nice Toyota Tundra buried to the axles on the side of Bross's hiking trail, ouch!
There was a Jeep following us to the summit.
Supposedly closed, but I wandered around and maybe stepped on the high point. Saw some tire tracks on the summit, too.

TH 8:30am, Democrat 10:00am, Cameron 11:15am,
Lincoln 11:45am, Bross 12:15pm, TH 1:00pm
Struck by lightning on Bross.
Is Bross Colorado's ugliest 14er?
Wife, dog and I. Completed the loop to Cameron. Decided to bail as I needed to get home a replace the muffler that had parted company from our car and required us to park waaaayy down the road.
#4 of 4 for the Day. Total trip took about 6 hours at a casual pace. Lots of people out there today. Think I'll try a class 4 next weekend to get away from the crowds.
A man on a motorcycle at the summit...
Last of 3 today.
Made it to the large, rounded summit of Bross around 10:45 and dealt with some of the worst winds I've ever encountered on a 14er. Can't say Bross was my favorite with its yucky scree descent, but I'm thankful that I only had to descend the scree rather than climb it. That would have been icky...
