bagged on the last day of summer!
With our last nice day of summer, a group of six of Rocky Mountaineers headed up the NW ridge. Some areas of the bushwhacking was rather heinous, but the class 4 section at the top was not bad at all. A rolled ankle by a party member on the way down led to getting back to the cars by headlamps!

Bushy approach via north ridge, went home on the trail, so got to see the whole thing - would also be a fun climb from summit lake.
great climb, look to traverse to the west face at about 8,900 just below the huge chimney notch.

Southeast face from Eagle Pass Creek
We took The Eagle Pass trail up to near 6,900 feet and then went straight up the beargrass slopes to the southwest ridge. Then we followed that on up and around to the east face, where we found a way to traverse toward the summit. A friendly dog had joined us at the trailhead and followed us all the way to the climbing section just southeast of the summit! Thanks to my buddy- who led the upper part of the climb, as I was not really enjoying the steep loose gullys that we had to negotiate on our northward traverse of the east face. Nevertheless, an excellent climb that I would love to repeat! When we got down almost to the trailhead, the guest dog disappeared into the woods and we found a note on my truck which read "I think my dog went hiking with you. Please send him home and do not steal him!" Thanks for the company, Cheff dog!!

On this trip Bob and I also climbed the middle summit. We traversed from the north summit and climbed the couloir on the east side of the middle summit.
