I didn't linger on the much-maligned summit of Mount Cameron due to high winds. This is an odd place.
#3 for the day, doing the Decalibron in reverse. Not much of summit here, but great views all around :-)
Did this mountain right before I went up Lincoln. It was a rather snowy and dark day.
Reminded me of a parking lot, unpaved, no cars. :-) It was flat but nice to be up at elavation.
Climbed, Democrat (Southeast Face), Cameron, Lincoln, Bross, and South Bross. Great hike with lots of time spent at altitude. Took approximately 6 hours for the trip.
Wonderful day, stayed ahead of the weather, was able to do all 4 in 6 hours even.
Okay now, someone explain this to me- from the saddle of Democrat, the first "lump" you summit is Cameron... kinda felt like I DID climb an official 14er- Cameron... & that Lincoln was a mere "hey, let's walk 50 more feet & see what's up here!" Why in teh world would they even give Cameron a name if it's considered to be a part of Lincoln?!:-) Enjoyed the day, just caught in the thought!
We glissaded Mount Bross' West Gully.
#3 of my "Tour de Force" that day.
Just passed over it on the way to Lincoln and Bross
I arrived Wed. night late. I had trouble finding my way to Kite Lake road. I wasn’t sure where the trailhead was but I made the right guess. I started hiking at 4:00am and summited the first peak at 5:45. It was still dark. That was pretty awesome. I grabbed a quick munch and moved on. The second summit was farther than I thought and wasn’t much to look at and didn’t even count. I continued on and summited Mt. Lincoln, the best out of the four. It was cold and windy so I didn’t even sit down. I moved back to the saddle and continued to Mt. Bross. It was an easy traverse on a mining road. After summiting Bross I descended down the west slope drainage, it was hell. I arrived back to my truck at around 9:30am.
Did this peak along with the other 3 "real" 14ers in the area.
Just a transition area, nothing big.
Passed over this one enroute to Lincoln.
What a great hike starting and ending at Kite Lake in Pike National Forest. Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln and Bross in one day is great!
Next stop on the Decalibron circuit - reached after about an hour from Democrat
Reached a rather non-descript summit from across the saddle between Mt Democrat. Stayed briefly, and took several photos on a clear, beautiful morning. Then on to Mt Lincoln.
On the summit before I even knew it!
I Climbed Cameron as part of my Democrat-Lincoln-Bross Loop.
