Fun, easy hike after Russell.
Did the Carillon-Russell-Whitney-Muir traverse in a long day with SuperDave. Carillon was the first peak and we went up from the Cleaver-Carillon col.

The trip up is worth it just for the views of Russell's East Ridge.
on the way to Russell with Chad
Did it while waiting for friends to catch up when climbing east ridge of Russell
We were trying to climb the East Ridge of Russell but a snowstorm made the route more dangerous than we wanted. Grabbed Carillon as a consulation prize! (and hoping the weather would clear to climb Russell.
Awesome ski descent down the Russell/Carillon chute. Powder day.
Climbed Mt. Carillon as part of a 5 peak Whitney Loop. Up the MR and down MT.
Climbed enroute to Russell with Richard and Eva from Upper Boy Scout lake vicinity
New Years snowshoe trip. Camped at Upper Boyscout.
So Barry says, "we'll get some water near the top of the switchbacks, it's there every year!" Of course, 2002 being one of the lowest snow years on record, that didn't happen. So, a little AMS never hurt anyone, right? As soon as I stepped off the summit of Carillon I felt light-years better.
Day 10 of the 2010 Sierra Challenge. Last of three peaks on the day, this one a gimme. Trip Report.
Nice sidetrip during a hike up Russell. Definitely recommend an approach from Cleaver Col rather than Russell/Carillon saddle.
Mt Russell -> Mt Carillon, it is 40 minutes side walk.
Meh sort of peak, but views of Russell are outstanding.
