This peak rose right above my camp so naturally I had to climb it.

NE Ridge
Day 9 of the 2010 Sierra Challenge. Armstrong Canyon is not a good place to climb out of with a large group - too much loose, unstable rock. Trip Report.

Longest day of the SC, what a slog. Won't go back to Armstrong Canyon without snow (and skis). Had wanted to do Colosseum but balked since I was friggin' pooped.

Nice Peak after Coliseum
Climbed the cl. 3 NE Ridge from the col on my way over from Colloseum. Descended the E/SE Face on my way to Perkins Pk.

Fighting a case of the lazies in camp, thought maybe about just scouting the area for later. Instead Scott and I headed up the SE slopes in the snow. Perfect for kick/plunge stepping. Awesome views.

East Slope
From Colosseum Col with Daryn, Steve, Tim, Lisa, Brian, Jim, and Louise! Made a bee-line from the col, avoiding the ridge, for an easy class 2 climb. Came in from Armstrong Col the previous day, then on to Colosseum Mtn and Sawmill pass that night. Nice little peak! See pix at http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/559250706KwcBqN

ne ridge
summitted via NE Ridge from Cedric Wright-Colesseum Saddle... very nice route, very easy 3rd class.
Route Climbed: South East Slope Date Climbed: September 1, 1985
Have done this a couple of times since this first time with Bob Lindgren during overnight trips to Woods Lake. I have also integrated the traverse over to Colosseum on May 24, 1987.
Route Climbed: SE Slope, descent of NE Ridge Date Climbed: 7/16/05
Made the long truck up and over the pass in one day, camping in the Woods Lake Basin. Took off the next morning up the SE slope then descended the NE Ridge and traversed over to Colosseum Mt. Another beautiful day in the Sierras.
