North Side Snow Climb  Sucess!

Camped at base of north face then up the left snow couloir to gain NW Ridge. Tiring effort as we had to trudge through lots of fresh unconsolidated snow. Six hours to summit. Back down (via SW Slopes) in two hours. Fabulous peak!

Scree and talus and fog, oh my.  Sucess!

Been wanting to do this peak for a while now. Kind of a let down because of no views due to fog, but still a great adventure climbing blindly up the scree and talus toward the unseen summit. Trip Report

holy scree batman  Sucess!

that southwest face is one big pile of scree. I think only a masochist would go up this route when dry. We at least had a little snow on the top part to make it bearable. No views this day and it seems to be a miracle that we were able to find our way to the top in the limited visibility. Going down was pretty quick and once the fog lifted, there are indeed incredible views in that area- for my money, the best in Idaho.

Ouch!  Sucess!

Started out yesterday @ 4:30pm and stayed a long night @ 11,400ft with the skunk ape and Brad (thats right in the snow). We summited this morning and coasted down. Toughest day on a mountain yet, and one of the greatest days.

Via North Side  Sucess!

Went up one of the north side couloirs. It was a hot, sunny day on lots of loose scree, which made for a long ascent and a bad sunburn. Can't argue with the scenery, though; I think the view from the top rivals just about anything else I've seen anywhere. There is lots of interesting geology in the Lost River Range. The descent was much faster, "scree-skiing" down the southwest face then hiking down the creek to the truck.

Spring Weather  Sucess!

Started out right after a torrential downpour. Got a break in the clouds, scrambled up and summitted right after a brief hail and snow squall. Very windy on top and descended during mostly sunny and warmer conditions. Great views of most of the Lost River Range from the east. Car to car in just under 3 hours.
