South Ridge
South ridge with Rachael, some off an on rain and snow showers. Unfortunately Capitol stayed in the clouds until we were almost at the trailhead so we missed the view of it from the summit.

Backup plan due to corniced Capitol
Capitol still had alot of snow and we talked to some very experienced ski mountaineers who failed the day before due to a huge cornice on the ridge, but only about 7 inches of snow on the knife edge. I was with my girlfriend who has more limited experience in winter like climbing and so we chose to do Daly instead once at the pass. We dropped in to the basin and ascended some fun steep (~45 degree at max) snow filled couliors and glissaded a different set. Got a good look at Capitol through the monocular and I think we made the right choice especially given the warmness of the day. No regrets, It was absolutely beautiful with all the snow and our camp back at the meadows was one of the best I have ever seen. Aside from the skiiers on the way up we saw nobody for 3 days until back below the snow and on the trail. Nice excuse to come back someday.

From Capitol-Daly Pass
The second time I've climbed Daly. An enjoyable scramble up the S ridge. The first time, I cut off the Capitol Ck trail shortly before it ended at Capitol Lake and headed straight up a scree field to the Daly S ridge; this allowed me to avoid some towers on the ridge close to the Daly-Capitol saddle.

From Moon Lake, twice
9/3/06 - Climbed in a long day with Capitol and Clark from camp at Moon Lake.
12/31/16 - Went back for a winter ascent. Backpacked to Moon Lake, climbed Clark and Daly the next day, then packed out the morning after that. Great weather, excellent (dry-ish) winter conditions. Gained the south ridge via steep SE facing sun baked slopes.

Great scramble
This is a great, rarely climbed peak in the Elks. The approach is long, the views are excellent, and the south ridge is quite fun!

Good Views of Capitol
I went up via the South ridge which had some loose rock on the first half of the climb. After doing Capitol this peak was a bit of a challenge for me... although the heat was not helping. ;-) Good view of Capitol Peak from the summit.
