HP #25!  Sucess!

My personal halfway mark with the state highpointing. Simple, not-too-difficult drive to the summit parking lot. Very green summit. I noticed a day later that the views are similar to Spruce Knob's in West Virginia.

Almost drive up  Sucess!

Got a flat tire on the drive to the trailhead, so took the easy way up since I'd already run out of daylight. Pranced around the rocks near the lookout tower to make sure I got the right one, then jogged back to the car to keep on driving. State HP #18

HP #23  Sucess!

The drive from Coal Center, PA up, and then out through the farm lands was really very pretty, especially this time of year. Tower up top had worthy views. Nice area up there though, well done with lots of history and info. 1st of 4 HP's on this quick appalachian trip.

Larvitour Stop #1  Sucess!

Hiked up from the picnic area. The trail was really wet in places, but not unavoidably so. Nice historical/geological displays at the top, and the view from the tower was good.

THC73  Sucess!

Set out for GeoWoodstock in Boonsboro, Md and stopped by to "climb" my first highpoint. I was able to drive fairly close and I actually climbed to the top of the observation tower to take a pic. Beautiful area here!

HP #6  Sucess!

Stick with your planned route. We took some scenic back roads on the way there and ended up driving on a pretty intense gravel trail. But we survived to tell the tale of a beautiful High Point!

#36  Sucess!

Drove in at 6 a.m.

I'd intended to hike to the summit, but the deep fog and rain made me think otherwise. I chose to expedite this highpoint so as to head for what I'd hoped would be drier air down in Shenandoah.

I had it all to myself but could not see much of anything so I did not linger long.

Never did find the USGS benchmark, which was kind of a bummer...
