Windy day, measured at 70mph. Just did the one summit, no desire to get blasted all day.
#1 of Decalibron. Took me 3 hours from trailhead, no wind and plenty of sunshine. Awesome views. Wish I knew all the mountains I was looking at.
From Kite Lake. Nice summit, probably won't ascend this route again though.
My buddy Tim Foltz and I decided to head up the west face of the southern ridge, which made for a fun addition to the normal route from the east which we already had done. Yet, since we did not bring a rope - we realized at the summit that it wouldn't be safe to head back the way we came... so we ended up having to bag Cameron and come down to the 4WD drove to hitch hike all the way back past Copper Mountain.
P.S. Its not so easy to hitch hike with an ice axe in hand... i suggest put it away...
Democrat was a nice summit, took my two nephews and it was too much for them to go on to do the other three. So,,, I am going back this summer to complete the task
Climbed as part of the Decalibron loop.
Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat, Lincoln, with Roger.
Started climbing around 7pm and summitted around 8:15 and hanging out on top for awhile. We were racing an incoming storm which was to start dumping snow around midnight. We then hurried down and drove out from Kite Lake right as snow started around 11.
Mt Democrat and Mt Cameron from Kite Lake Trailhead
An easy summit with great people
Climbed with my teenage daughter, aka gazelle.
Summited Democrat as part of the cuadruple summit tour from Kite Lake on a windy morning. The creek was running pretty high even before sunrise. Total time for the tour was 4 hours.
4 hr C2C. Much easier than expected.
Great loop with the other 14ers in the Mosquito Range
Terrible weather and a very short night of sleep before, but super easy and really beautiful.
Middle of August and there was 3 feet of fresh snow, and cold!
Hiked Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross.
