Route Climbed: Kite Lake TH Date Climbed: October 26 2002  Sucess!

The hike was great! There was a few feet of snow up by the summit. I was going to climb the other 3 mountains but the weather rolled in and I had to go down.

Ring around the cirque. Cold, windy, snowy day made conditions more challenging than normal.

With the snow, this climb was a challenge. It was slick in areas and i'm not used to climbing in the snow. So i was even more happy to make it safely to the top and back down! What awesome views! no haze so it was great!

these mountains were over populated, enough folks to start a small village at the summit of democrat. i still loved this hike, even though there were too many people the day we went i found that most the other hikers we spoke with were over all genuinely into the outdoors and hiking. don't get me wrong there was still the mountains fair share of caffè latte totin tourons to contend with.

Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: September 3, 2002  Sucess!

Did the standard triple bagger route from Kite Lake. Except I got off the trail early and ended up scrambling up the scree to Democrat. That wore me out! Started at 8 am and summitted Democrat at 9:45 am. (By the way, not to diminish anyone's accomplishments or anything, but Cameron doesn't count as a fourteener!)

Third of 10 fourteeners in 6 days. #11 overall.

I meant to climb Bross, Lincoln, Democrat but the gated jeep road that I thought went up Bross went to the Democrat-Cameron saddle so I just went the other way around. Good weather. 3:52 car to car.

Route Climbed: Kite Lake Date Climbed: June 24, 2000  Sucess!

My son, Patrick, and grandson, Shawn, and I climbed all 4 summits, and would have climbed South Bross if it hadn't rained. Had a nice glissade off the summit. Shawn turned back before we started up from the saddle. Almost got run over by a mountain biker as I summited Bross. I wonder if he guessed what I ment when I ignored his wave?

Route Climbed: Mt Bross Road and Cameron-Democrat Ridge Date Climbed: July 15, 1994  Sucess!

I drove to Bross and climbed Lincoln. Not much of a climb, but then I did Democrat. I didn't carry any water, and the wind was really blowing. Crossing the connecting ridge was relatively easy but coming back was really hard. I got hypothermia from dehydration.

Route Climbed: Democrat-Lincoln-Bross traverse Date Climbed: August 1997  Sucess!

Knocking off 3 in one day is an awesome feeling! I think hiking these 3 gave me the desire to keep going and see if I can finish all 54 peaks in Colorado that are 14,000 or more feet high!

Route Climbed: South ridge Date Climbed: June 23 2000  Sucess!

Somehow I ended up at Lake Emma, Mt. Buckskin, some class 3 climbing, and a steep glissade on the descent. Definitely not the standard route. It was only my 2nd day at altitude (from Florida), not enough acclimation to do Lincoln and Bross today.

Route Climbed: Southeast Face I Date Climbed: Aug. 25, 2001  Sucess!

Easy summit after steep climb to East Ridge I. Very open and crowded, had to really search for a place to go the bathroom. Not one of the quieter peaks and definetly did not like the jeep road people can take almost all the way up Bross. Felt like Pikes Peak with cars at top of mountain.

Route Climbed: From Kite Lake Date Climbed: 8-4-94  Sucess!

As is usual, this was the first of these 4 peaks we climbed that day....Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross, in that order. Beautiful hike, but certainly not alone. We chatted with many along the way, including a 7-yr-old boy on his way down who had just done his first 14er, and an older chap in his 80's who was making his annual birthday climb of this trio with the aid of a friend and a cane. We were impressed!!
