Mount Doody, Cloudcroft Peaks

Mount Doody, Cloudcroft Peaks

Another of those poor technical-quality images I can't resist showing because the landscape is so special. The three jagged peaks are Mount Doody (8800') on the left, with the other peaks being collectively known as the Cloudcroft Peaks, the highest of which is 8690'. The glaciated peak in the distance, just to the left of Doody is Great Northern Mountain, with Mount Grant at far left. (Both Great Northern and Grant are in the Great Bear Wilderness, which borders on GNP.) The ridges dominating the near distance (on the right) of this picture are all part of Mount Phillips (9494'). Closest, in the sun, is Mount Helen. As a matter of orientation, the Mount Helen ridge sweeping off to the right leads to Dawson Pass which is not far out of the image.
