Route Climbed: standard PCT to Sisson-Callahan Date Climbed: 4 July, 2003
Hiked up with Lara. After a late departure (14.45), & a leisurely undulating stroll, we arrived at Upper Deadfall Lake. Losing the exact trail (covered with snow at that point), we negotiated some horrendous steep scree up to a somewhat cohesive mass of rock below the summit ridge. We climbed this (3rd & 4th class, depending on variation) to the ridge, again finding the trail. We hiked up the steep section to the summit, arriving at 18.45. After soaking up the surroundings & relaxing for awhile, we were joined by 'John (real name altered to preserve integrity),' admittedly f*@$ed up on 151 & 4:20, and Co.- N. California pre-college students. We chilled for a bit, departing briefly before sunset. Hiking partially in darkness (& encountering a dumbstruck deer, lethargic toad, & cool-looking scorpion en route), we finally got back to the parking lot at 23.09. A wonderful day, beautiful weather, a great hike up a majestic mountain!
