With the clouds from the earlier part of the day, this might have had the best views. Successful day of hiking on the Crawford path.
Did this as part of an out-and-back to Monroe. Clouds were starting to move in from the west, but I still got some good views from the summit, before heading north.
Hit the summit at lunchtime, enjoyed the view. My second peak of the day.
Went up for breakfast on the way up to Mount Washington. Really nice views of the rest of the White Mountains!
Hit on a traverse of the Presidentials, north to south.
Pitched tent near Mizpah Hut and climbed Pierce and Eisenhower with Chris in relatively poor winter conditions.
I love hiking in fog, give it a other worldly feel Cleared up as we hiked down, felt like hiking a completely different mountain. Awesome hike.
Presidential traverse with Ryan Draft and Jamie Gagnon
Did as part of a 1 day presi traverse. Wonderful weather and great views on all summits.
Day started out foggy and rainy, but the rain drizzled off and the fog lifted. Nice summit with great viewing.
great trip above treeline
Last summit I made on a north to south traverse. I summited just as the sun set at 651 pm and while it was windy at the top the trails in the area were downright civilized compared to the boulder scrambling I did up north. It was totally black and foggy by the time I made it to Pierce so I stayed right on the Crawford Path and headed south to the Notch. It had a broad summit area.
Part of a north-to-south presi traverse dayhike, Madison to Webster. Great conditions until just before the Mizpah hut, at which point there was some lightning and hail.
Up Eisenhower and over Pierce day 1. Camped at Nauman, and headed to Jackson the next day... though a bear made us change course and head down Crawford!
After a record breaking warm week in the Whites, finally got some wind and colder air doing Pierce and Eisenhower. Super clear, very windy on top. Lots of pockets of deep, mushy snow.
Did Eisenhower and Franklin in mid May of 1995. Knee deep postholes on the upper part of the trail, but easy going above the treeline.
Done with Monroe on a bluebird day. Great snow.
