Good Times. Nice Work.
Well done!! Man.
All the best.
Second ascent. Climbed with Dustin Kelley and Eric Holle. This was Erics final Colorado 14er.
Crazy windy day.
Drove nonstop from Texas with my brother and father to climb Mt. Elbert. Great trip! Got an early start and all three of us made the summit by 11am despite the heavy snow and wind at the top. Going back June 2010 to climb Mt. Elbert again along with Mt. Massive.
Snowshoed up the Northeast Ridge from the North Mount Elbert Trailhead with my girlfriend Meghan. The wind at the summit was stronger than anything that I had previously experienced.
Nice day. Not too difficult. Snowshoes were nice towards the bottom at the end of the day. New high-point for my canine companion.
hiked up the interminable east ridge.
Hiked up the Mt Elbert trail with my brothers. The weather turned out nicely after somewhat inauspicious portents the previous evening.
Good climb with friends...odd experience though in that the summit had a man with dress pants and wingtips, another with a full size poodle with a ribbon in it's ear! Takes all types to enjoy the mtns.
The weather was great, but the snow was soft on the descent.
easy winter training climb. 5,000ft. elevation gain from the winter trailhead.
Started at South Elbert trail. Beautiful day, no clouds, a lot of snow, but hardpacked from other hikers and skiers. For about an hour, I was the highest person in Colorado. Incredible views. HP #18.
Nice easy hike once I found the well-trampled highway. Met some crazy dudes who had camped on the summit the night before. Trip report
A fun hike up and no people until the summit. Do driving up Mt.
Evans and staying in Leadville count as aid?
My first 14ener in Colorado, August 04, 2004
2nd summit March 21, 2010
3rd time, March 16 2014
Took the unrelenting NE ridge. Made a few mistakes on this one- not having warm enough clothes, and not eating until getting to the summit. Both contributed to me getting a bit of altitude sickness. Nevertheless, the summit views made up for how crappy I felt!
Thought about trying to make it up for sunrise, would be a really good sunrise location if you can make it up for it. Nice views all around.
Sometime back in Nov 02 or 03 - first outing after knee surgery. Fun peak with DU Alpine Club.
