This was our Plan B after failing on Purple Mountain (3,000 ft into it). We hiked up the south slopes from the Kebler Pass Rd. Lots of snow up high.
I climbed this via the Elk Creek trail followed by a scramble up to the Scarp Ridge once the Elk Creek trail seemed to peter out into old mining roads. I hiked east along the ridge line to Gunsight Pass and up Emmons/Red Lady. There was some snow at the top after some early season weather. Views were incredible in all directions.
Gunsight Pass highpoint.
From the top of Gunsight Pass I went up to the left and ended up on Emmons. What a great day!
Skied from the summit!
Great as always. I was going solo, so I decided against skiing Red Lady this time. It was a little too warm, so wet slides were on my mind.
