Ran this one along with others
Ran to the CT highpoint on the shoulder of Frissel, then on to Mt Brace and then looped back around and crossed over to Bear Mtn before coming back to down to mt car on Mt Washington Rd. A nice day of trail running, the trails in many places are wide and fast for trail running!
It was very foggy at times and no good views were to be had but that is often the case with summits!

3 peaks and AT
Hiked up from Hwy 41 in CT to the CT HP on the south side of Mt. Frissell, then to the summit in MA, over to Round Top, to Laurel Ridge Campground on the AT, then back to Bear Mt. and back to the start, 3618' of gain, 15.7 miles total

Mount Frissell
Had the mountain to myself. Forgot that Conn. highpoint was not the summit. Stumbled upon it by accident as I was descending.
A delicious hike on the South Taconic Trail - blueberries all along the Taconic crest. Definitely a class 3 hike.
That's it for cherrypicking, tho: nine major ones left.

Nice and short, but with a few steeper sections than the southeast. Started out our 2nd trip with Frissell and Greylock before driving to VT on day 1.

Frissell and Greylock in the same day!
Nice little hike which kicked off a long day of both Frissell in CT, and Greylock in MA. Superb late summer weather greeted us and made both very enjoyable. State HP #9 and 10!

This was a nice little climb to the top of Round Mountain and Mt. Frissell and on to the three state marker. Very few people on the trails. The views were beautiful and trails well marked.

Cold, wet...and all to myself.
I don't know why everyone is fussing over finding some cairn below the summit, all I wanted to do was hike to the top of one of Massachusetts' more beautiful southwestern summits. ;-)
It had been raining a good portion of the day by the time I arrived after summiting Greylock earlier in the day. This rain did not let up for the entire 2 hours I was on the trail, but it also kept away any other visitors. The solitude was a pleasant surprise.
The steeper portions can get a little dicey when wet but should not be a big problem for experienced hikers.
Not much in terms of views thanks to the cloud cover and dense foliage, but I don't mind -- it was great time in the wilderness. (Always is.)

Close encounters..
.. of the bear kind. In all the times I've hiked & camped in 'bear Country' - 1st time I came up on one in the brush as the side of the trail. Scared the crap outta me... fortunately - he (?) was more scared than I... as he took off into the brush.. and I (warily) proceedeed to exit.. stage left!

Highpoint #2
The top was gorgeous. There was some snow and it was snowing lightly. We visited the highpoint and the summit. At the summit we signed and looked through the log book. It was an awesome day!

HP #15
Screwed this one up trying to hit the high point just before dark. Went to the top of Frissell, had a bad feeling about it being the actual high point (I thought the HP was between Frissell and Round Mtn, not past Frissell), but couldn't find the real marker. Went back to civilization, got on SP and realized my mistake. Went back up and found the real summit in the dark :P 35 to go!

There were a couple of parts of the trail where I had to use my hands. I thought that I might not find the HP, but I just kept doing and I eventually found it. The trail is not well marked past the summit.
