I've climbed this peak many times. It is an excellent aerobic hike for early season training, or when you have a short period of time to get outdoors. Also it is very close to home for the front range natives.

Run
This trail (Cedar plus summit loop) makes for a great trail run if one is so inclined - most of it is gradual enough for pleasant running. This makes for a great quick workout if you don't have the time to stop and smell the cactus.

East Ridge from Golden suburb
I did this from the east from a neighborhood access trail off of Hwy 93 in Golden. It is called Nightbird Gulch trail and I think it is more scenic than the Cedar Gulch trail. It goes up a westward trending ridge. Anyway, great views of Golden and the whole Denver area.
Did this back in the winter from the north and the trail was wery trecherous

Cedar Gulch Trail to Mount Galbraith Loop
Nice, sunny and warm outing on a chilly August day with low temps, clouds and snow in the high country. Great dog hike and neat views of the Coors brewery. Partners: Elissa & Monica, plus Lady and Maggie the dogs.

Via the Cedar Gulch trail
Axe, Rkymtn and I got out for a quick hike. Windy at the start but by the end of the trip it was snowing pretty heavy. Spring in the Rockies!

Galbraith
Quick hike via the Cedar Gulch trail and then the loop trail, which amazingly doesn't go to the summit, but less defined trails that Jeffco Open Space people try to block off do. Some snow on the trail, but only on northern slopes where the sun doesn't get an opportunity to melt the snow.

Cedar Gulch/Mount Galbraith Loop
It was a really nice day for this little hike. The snow was mostly packed down on the trail although I was on my own for the summit.

Mount Galbraith Loop
Did Cedar Gulch Trail and then the loop...sort of. Inadvertently got to the top of the mountain after losing the loop trail. Views aren't bad. All in all, a nice hike if you're wanting something very close to Denver.

Off trail
Best travel was off-trail. Miniature barrel cactus (don't know what they're called) blooming magenta flowers. Beautiful day.
Route Climbed: Loop Trail to north ridge Date Climbed: January 1, 2006
A perfect start to our 2006 climbing season. Windy and partly cloudy. Lots of people and dogs on the Loop Trail - just our group of 3 on the summit. Also climbed the unnamed 6870 ft + unnamed point to the east; again unmolested by crowds. Fourth year in a row we have had favorable weather in the Front Range to climb on New Year's Day.
Route Climbed: Nightbird Gulch and Cedar Gulch Trails Date Climbed: Various springs and summers since '02
Fun and easy hike that is usually one of my first and last of the year. The summit is off trail and unmarked (to my knowledge) but there are a number of rock outcroppings nearby to play around on. Mount Evans is visible on all but the cloudiest days.
