Dana and GibbsMy first (gasp) off trail experience. I was totally overprepared, if there is such a thing, but I used it to practice compass and map skills and match them up with what I could see. Overall, a fun solo trip.

Route Climbed: from Data/Gibbs saddle Date Climbed: July 1993Did on a long (by my standards) solo trek of Dana and Gibbs. Slight scramble up Gibbs was fun, particularly haulting my big 5 pound tripod. Something like 8 hours ctc from near Tioga Pass.

Dana) / West Ridge (descent) Date Climbed: May 31, 2004Fourth and final day out in the Eastern Sierra over Memorial Weekend, a Dana-Gibbs dayhike out of Tioga Lake. A modest outing, but fun. The scramble up Gibbs' North Ridge was more enjoyable than I'd expected.
