Hiked in from Big Tujunga Canyon, spent the night at the saddle where Trail Canyon meets up with Condor Peak Trail...bagged Gleason in the morning...Trail Canyon from Indian Ben Saddle to Gleason area is completely overgrown so I just took the service roads and bulldozed ridge lines to Gleason.
A long, hot day starting at Mill Creek Saddle and tagging 4 HPS Peaks along the way – Gleason, Iron # 2, Condor, & Fox # 2. Finished the hike with a car shuttle at MM 4.50 on Big Tujunga Canyon Road.
From Mill Creek to the summit on my 29er along the Mt Gleason rd. Hiked from the camp to radio tower ( the portion was too steep for my abilities ) No register on the top.
Gate was closed @ Mill Creek Summit. Took the PCT to just below the summit. Ended up being 22 1/2 miles roundtrip.
Rode my bike from Ave G and 110th West to Mill Creek summit, then on the rough round to the summit. Then back down the same way.
Did as a side trip during my 2012 thru hike.
Spent 3 days on the summit counting burned and live trees. Sad to see this place changed so much.
Bagged Round Top, Granite, Gleason and Pacifico today. Nice day!
Another day of HPS peakbagging, another fine day of weather in SoCal. Trip Report
Parked near the prison and hiked up the PCT to Gleason. Continued on the road to Messenger Flats and then Messenger Peak. Very cold brisk wind blowing but it made the views magnificent, especially towards those far ranges to the west. There was intermittent hard snow on the PCT but passable with trail runners.
Nice stroll after spending the previous night camping at Mt. Pacifico.

Hooked up the PCT and followed it to the top, then took the ridge and road down. Nice alternative to driving to the gate.
Here is my GPS Track, elevation profile and Google Map of the hike
Seriously, bring Granny with a walker and an oxygen tank she'll make it. Did it, since I was hiking Condor and Iron #2 from Messenger Flats.
Done with the moon. He is my guide to the galaxy.
First time up, did Messenger Peak and Gleason. Really loved the cedars on the summit of Gleason. Really amazing views of the western transverse ranges. A fun day spent chasing easy HPS peaks, also went to Barley and Little Rabbit.
