Bad climb, great summit block  Sucess!

The scree on the Golden Trout Lake side was horrible and made for a very tough climb. But the short class 3 sections at the summit are worth the effort.

South Ridge  Sucess!

Wanted to dayhike East Vidette but the weather was unstable with rain already in the morning. Climbed Gould instead and continued on to Dragon. Tried Kearsarge Peak as well but got turned back below Lilley Pass by thunder and strong rain.

Traverse from Dragon   Sucess!

Fun finish on an otherwise uninspiring peak. Not even the slightest breeze on the summit, with lots of smoke filling the valleys to the West.

Via Kearsarge Pass  Sucess!

Nice little summit boulder. I felt it was necessary to climb up and stand on it. So I did.

Great socializing opportunities at Kearsarge Pass on the way up added a good hour of bullshitting to my trip.

Ski trip  Sucess!

This was one of the best ski descents I can remember. Perfect corn conditions from top to bottom.

South Ridge  Sucess!

Up the same way as about everyone else, but with a full pack as I was heading to Rixford next and then down for 5 others over a 4 day trip. Nice route overall.

nice diversion from kearsarge pass  Sucess!

Easy walk up from the Pass with a little scramble at the end. Great view into the Rae Lakes from the north side of the little rock plain just north of the peak.

Windy  Sucess!

Since this was a solo summit the high wind that day kept me off the last 7 feet of the summit block.

cdewhurst  Sucess!

Came from Dragon Peak with cab. another fun climb to the peak. Coming down was fun and the trail to the lot was welcome after boulder hopping and scrambling.

Traverse from Dragon Peak  Sucess!

Climbed with cdewhurst. Fun traverse from Dragon Peak. Enjoyed climbing the summit block and the scree ski back towards Kearsarge Pass. Weather was pretty cold (low-mid 40's) and a bit windy. Didn't see another person all day.

From Rixford  Sucess!

Gorgeous day, but a bit too windy to stay long at the top. Terrific scree ski down the main chute leading directly to Kearsarge Lakes.

South Ridge  Sucess!

The fun rocks at the top and the views make the slog from the pass worthwhile. Clouds threatened rain on the entire hike.
