My first Hi-point. Drove to the top with my parents when I was about 6 years old.
Hiking with 2 of my sons and a friend... we hiked S from North Adams, but took the trail up over Mt Prospect... then down into Money Brook. Turned a 2400 ft climb into a 4000 ft day.. Ouch!
Got to summit at dusk.. no views... Drove back up the next AM to see the sights...
took the very well maintained trail and saw a porcupine that seemed to have gotten into recent skirmish because quills around butt were all gone
I drove up and enjoyed the views. Pretty area with fall colors.
5th HP of the weekend. Drove to the summit. Was very busy on the summit.
Wonderful day, but lots of people!
Hiked AT from Wilbur's Clearing over Williams & Fitch Mtns to Greylock. Saw quite a few AT thru-hikers along the trail.
Enjoyed an excellent day exploring western Massachusetts with Lillian, Holly, and Jay. It was somewhat overcast but we still had great views from the summit.
Did Greylock en route to the Catskills for a weekend hiking trip. I went up the tower and there are new windows, which provide a clear view.
Wonderful views of surrounding areas. Beautiful blue day.
Nice hike and a nice day.
Started at the Jones Nose trailhead and ascended over steepish terrain for about 3/4 of a mile. Then met up with the AT for a relatively flat and pleasant hike to the summit. Views from the top were outstanding! Roundtrip time was about 4 hrs.
Gould trail to summit via AT. Very nice hike, still snow on the summit and cloudy, but sunny on the way down. Connecticut HP day before.
It was a cold day with a bit of rain here and there. there was snow on the ground at higher elevation, and once we hit the top the snow and wind kicked in and the visibility dropped to next to nothing. it was a great adventure!
pleasant drive up and a place to get a t-shirt to boot ;-]
Pretty easy hike along the AT. Cloudy most of the day, but it cleared up towards the end of the day and we had some gorgeous views south of the summit on the AT.
HP #10 for me, #4 for my husband, #1 for our pup. They drove up, and dropped me off at an AT crossing on the road up. I reverently hiked the AT up to the summit, where they awaited me for pictures and puppykisses.
Climbed this on a beautiful day! Too bad the memorial tower was closed, but the road was closed so there were very few people on top.
Very nice trail and view from the top. The tower on top is a nice bonus!
I climbed this mountain when I was a summer storekeeper at Camp Beckett. It was my second or third state high point, and at the time I had a thought: maybe someday I could do all the high points and write a book about how to do them all. But part of me said nah, nobody else would be interested in bagging all the high points.
