Route Climbed: Greylock Circuit
Hiked the 12.7 mile long Greylock Circuit described in AMC's Berkshire Hiking book. Was a fantastic hike that spanned some of the AT and offered great clear views from multiple summits, including Greylock and its observation tower.

No people!
Started at the Roaring Brook trailhead. I didn't see a SOUL until within 1/2-mile of the summit - and that includes Sperry Campground, the road crossings (no cars either), and almost all of Hopper Trail.
The steep portion on Roaring Brook caught me a little by surprise, but no biggie. Was still up and back in about 3 hours, before any inclement weather rolled in.
I think I read someone post somewhere on this site that they do not recommend going up in the tower. I could not disagree more. The windows were clean; the views were beautiful.

Bernard Farm Trail to AT to summit
Trail was 4.9 miles with the final 2.4 miles on the AT. An hour and forty five minutes to the summit and ninety minutes back down. Nice mtn with a war memorial at the top. Met four AT hikers there. Got back down before it started pouring : )

Winter Wonderland
My husband and I, our friend, and our dog hiked to the summer yesterday with a high wind/snow advisory. We took Hopper to AT about a 8 mile hike. It wasn't too windy until we got to the summit, where it was difficult to stand still long enough to snap a photo on the edge! The summit was absolutely beautiful, blanketed with fresh snow and trees frozen with ice/snow! Can't wait to check it out in the summer!
Did a winter ascent with my brother. We had the whole mountain to ourselves. The top was like a winter wonderland!

Was going to drive to the summit and have a meal at the lodge. Hah. The road was closed for the winter. So I hiked the Crescent Harbor trail. I really appreciated my yax-trax. No snow, but lots of ice on the trail

Hiked up via the Bernard Farm trail to the AT to the summit. A little bit of ice near the top, but nothing too serious. Saw the wreckage of a plane wreck along the BF trail, very interesting!

Columbus Day Weekend
This trip was a challenge for my level of ability since we had to carry everything we needed 2 miles to the campsite, The next morning we began our hike via Sperry Rd. to the Hopper Trail which then connected to the Appalachian Trail and then to the summit. Weather was great and only a slight haze at the top, Mt. Monadnock was a great presence on the horizon.

Is it cheating to drive to the highest point of the state? :) I would like to say the view was beautiful, but it was really foggy, which has it's own kind of beauty I guess.
Great views, cool tower. Saw a few thru hikers on the AT.

2nd highpoint
I climbed this Mountain with a bunch of friends that I went to Iraq with when we all made it home safely. I have since gone back and snow shoed up Thunderbolt, which was very tough!! It is a beautiful area with a restaurant located on top!!

Just a drive up, and a hike down :-p
The only highpoint I've hiked down from. Did this in pouring rain with the summer camp I was with for 2 weeks. We descended the AT from the summit to Money Brook Trail into the Hopper, then took the Hopper Trail back up to the campground.
