Pretty easy hike along the AT. Cloudy most of the day, but it cleared up towards the end of the day and we had some gorgeous views south of the summit on the AT.
HP #10 for me, #4 for my husband, #1 for our pup. They drove up, and dropped me off at an AT crossing on the road up. I reverently hiked the AT up to the summit, where they awaited me for pictures and puppykisses.
Climbed this on a beautiful day! Too bad the memorial tower was closed, but the road was closed so there were very few people on top.
Very nice trail and view from the top. The tower on top is a nice bonus!
I climbed this mountain when I was a summer storekeeper at Camp Beckett. It was my second or third state high point, and at the time I had a thought: maybe someday I could do all the high points and write a book about how to do them all. But part of me said nah, nobody else would be interested in bagging all the high points.
My first time to the top of Greylock was the 11th of my 49 state high points.
My 6th state highpoint, 1 of 3 for the day. Beautiful area!
Just hiked up yesterday. Really fun hike, was great to hit 2 peaks on the AT and a state higpoint. We went via AT starting in North Adams
Got to the summit on part of a 13-mile AMC hike. Also got Mt. Williams, Mt. Fitch, and Mt. Prospect. HP #2. A beautiful day with great views from the top!
Drove up on a cloudy/rainy day for an unfulfilling summit bag. Will have to try hiking up sometime to do this one right, and hopefully be rewarded with good views on a clear day.
Wish I'd done it in the winter so I could ski down.
Took time off before a convention in Boston to drive to Western Massachusetts for my first State Highpoint
Suck my cock.
I've hiked on this mountain a lot because i used to live close. Great trail system. I've been up to the summit from just about every direction! It has been nice with no cars the last year and a half. The Road is scheduled to be re-opened this summer though along with the lodge... I'm sure thru hikers of the AT will be happy about this(the lodge). Hike up on a nice sunny day! You wont be disappointed!
Encountered some late through-hikers on the AT. On my way back out I saw a baby bear scamper across the trail, which was scary since mama bear was surely somewhere around!
I did this one solo as my wife was still a little sore from Connecticut's highpoint the previous day. I summitted via the Gould Trail located off of the Chesire Harbor Trail. It was a constantly steady uphill with a 6.6 mile round trip distance. This very likely could be my last Eastern Highpoint for the year.
Had to hoof it up to the summit, but it was worth it.
Boogied up the short but steep Thunderbolt with my 10 year old and all our gear. Summit area under construction but looks great and almost finished! camped in one of the lean to's a little ways down from the top and hiked down the next morning. This would be an easy one day up and down, but we wanted to overnight it. NH & MA highpoints conquered!
So I was the only one at the top after taking the Cheshire Harbor Trail. Great views to the east! HP # 13, and one of 7 on my trip to the northeast in a week.
Climbed via the Appalachian Trail from the Williamstown Resevoir. A nice summer dayhike. Climbed it when the Auto Road was closed for maintenance so there was almost no one up there. Good views of the Taconics and the Berkshires. My first mountain in Massachusetts and my fourth state highpoint!
