Nice use trail to follow up from May Lake. Grand view from the summit, except for the radio repeater.
Made to the top in a problematic weather. With Jean. Thunder storm later at night.
With Todd & John. Plenty of Marmots on the summit
nice hike with great views
Was driving to Mammoth for a weekend of peakbagging, decided to do Hoffman in the morning and North Peak in the afternoon to help acclimate for the weekend fun. Hoffman was crowded and is class 1. Incredible views though! Trip report is HERE.
Much easier with an experienced teammate/leader who knew what we're doing. Did the less-traveled NE ridge (?) route. Tried some Class 4 stuff but I had to bail and move over to the left for an easier route.
Went too late in the season, there was a ton of snow slush that slowed us down quite a bit. Got to May lake and a little bit past it, then got confused and ran out of time.
Approximate date. Lovely views from this centrally located peak.
Easy hike rewarded with great views!!
...Of Yosemite, more or less. A little bit of a steep hike toward the top, but still pretty easy.
lovely day hike. great views!
Following a visit to Tuolumne Peak, returned to May Lake and started up the standard route. Met four buddies, Jake, Ryan, Nick, and Jake who were on a road trip throughout the West from Ohio. Joined them for the trip up and down. Patches of snow starting at lakeside all the way to the top. Loved the view north and east along with the occasional rumblings of thunder from two storms nearby.
Hung out with a giant marmot on the summit.
Climbed up the backside of the peak on a multi-day trip off trail into the backcountry near May Lake.
Quick and easy.
The view was as good as advertised
Nice day hike to summit.
Next time I will take a map of Yosemite so I can identify all the peaks in the range.
Beautiful spring day and just enough snowmelt to make this a hike rather than a snowclimb. Lost the use trail on the way up and made this a bit more difficult than it needed to be.
Pics and trip report here.
