Houghton via Tahoe Rim Trail
Started at Mt Rose Trailhead and took the Tahoe Rim Trail past Galena Creek Falls to the summit. Took the utility road back down which was maybe 0.75mi shorter than the way up. 10.65 miles roundtrip. Fantastic weather and fantastic trail. Hiked with Oriel.

Via South Ridge following Tamarack and Relay Peaks
Climbed via the south ridge as part of a three summit day following Tamarack and Relay Peak. The entire valley and slopes east of the Relay/Houghton is still in deep snow conditions so I gained the ridge by climbing straight up from the tram station to the low point on the Ridge North of the radio tower. There was little snow left on the south ridge of Houghton, the use trail was obvious, class 1

COLD day of SOTA..
Hiked in with my buddy Doug. Some snow up high, but nothing dangerous. Walked up the road to the lift, then over land hiked.
Came down the slope since it was stable with a few inches of snow..

Snowshoe on Snowy Day
Snowshoed up from Mt. Rose Trailhead on a snowy day. Nice views of Tahoe before storm moved in. Have maps and a good idea of the route because in deep snow it was slow going.

5 peak day
Fun day of hiking, from Mt. Rose summit took the Relay Road, cross country from due south of Tamarack, up and over the peak, back down to Relay Road, up to Relay Peak where I scrambled up the last 300 feet rather than walking the road, then took the new trail to Mt. Houghton, then cross country down from Houghton to the saddle with Mt. Rose, picked up the Mt. Rose trail here, took that until it was time for the easy cross country to Church Peak, then rejoined the Mt. Rose trail to the summit of Mt. Rose. Took the Mt. Rose trail all the way back down. Relay Peak and Mt Houghton
Picked off Relay first then headed over to Houghton, took a stupid way down from there but ended up finding a decent chute to get me back down on to the Rose trail.
