Hiked up via Jackson Branch of the Webster/Jackson trail, then over the Mizpah hut and down the Crawford Path.
Busy day of peaks. Steep coming off Jackson in some spots. Headed to Webster from there.
Southbound thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Great views on the top.
Climbed via the Crawford Path from Lakes of the Clouds. Some of the best views in the southern Presidentials were to be found here. Had the most amazing view of Washington at the point where the Appalachian Trail crosses a small alpine bog just below Jackson's summit. A good finish to a great first trip to the Presidentials.
I was pleasantly surprised with this gorgeous summit. Spectacular views.
Wow! We got a very late start to this one (3pm I think). We decided to go ahead anyways and pack what we needed for a late night. There was still plenty of snow so going late meant that others had packed out the trail. Unfortunately the late start meant turning back when I realized my memory cards were not in my camera was not happening. This was the worst hike to forget memory cards. Not only did I carry my DSLR all the way to the summit for nothing, but the Ice was fantastic on everything. We finished just after dusk.
Being late had its advantage. On the way home we were hungry and found the "Red Parka Pub" which we now frequent.
Beautiful day in the mountains. Part of a 3 mountain traverse.
Nice hike in the snow. Someone who had just gotten off the mountain told us that everything was super packed and there was no need for snowshoes, just crampons. That was true on the way up, but the hike across and down was a complete mess. Sinking literally up to my neck on two occasions. Lesson learned: bring snowshoes even if it looks hard.
First time in the Presidentials. Stayed at Lake of the Clouds Hut for the night.
Lovely hike. On to Maine.
Day hike from Crawford Notch. The notch was clear of snow, but plenty still up on the ridgeline.
Hiked with a friend as a day hike, fairly easy hike, great views of Mount Washington. A little chilly and windy at the top.
Was the first mountain I got on a trip to get a NH hat-trick. I followed it with Mt. Pierce, and then Mt. Eisenhower
Came across the Webster Cliff Trail from Webster.
awesome views of washington
My wife and pup did really well on this longer day (for us).
great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary
