Like summer!!
Actually, warmer than many summer days in the Whites. From Jefferson Notch--I remember the fun scrambling, the anomalous weather, and the moose that stood in my way on Jefferson Notch Road for like 20 minutes.

Got about a third of the way before having to turn around. Started out too late. I'll be back in a few weeks.

by the Castle Ridge trail and once by the Caps Ridge trail. It's a neat summit.

From J-Notch
Hiked in from Jefferson Notch on the Caps Ridge Trail with my dad, sisters, and brother. Great views from the top. Unfortunately, you could also see the Cog Railway and the fumes of smoke billowing off of Washington.
Rather gloomy on the summit, but warm and not too windy.

This was another outstanding peak we summitted on this cold windy day in the Whites. From afar,it looks easy, but as we approached the massive girth of this giant unfolded before us

The Weather Was Nice...Until It Wasn't
Caps Ridge Trail was fun with a couple nice vistas along the way. Just don't think that the top you are looking at is the actual top, because it isn't. Some scramblin' near the top made for a nice change of pace.
Hiked up into the Great Gulf & camped just past the Six Husbands Trail junction. Took Six Husbands Trail up (awesome) but the clouds were down to about 4500 feet and we couldnt see a damn thing till we got back below 4500 feet on the Sphynx Trail. The Spphinx Trail was tough going on the descent especially after such rains!!. loved the trails but missed the views.

Presidential Traverse
The Northern Presidential range is increadible, secluded, vast, treeless, intimidating, certainly a greay exxperience.

MtJHiked during a miserable rain/windstorm in November; as such, I was the only person on the peak that day. Still very surreal and worth it.
