Ridge Run
Started at Timber Lake TH, hiked to the valley separating Jackstraw and Ida and bushwhacked to treeline, then traversed Ida, Chief Cheley, PT 12820 and Cractop to Julian. Lots of scrambling and interlocking grass ledges from Cractop to Julian, fun stuff! Also climbed Jackstraw and Gray Jay on the way down, long day! Lots of wildlife: elk, deer, moose and bighorn all present today!
And then over to Terra Tomah to finish the cirque. The ridge down from Cracktop is fun 3rd class mosly following the ridge and the route up Julian is more low 3rd class scrambling following the obvious slopes up. Fun Peak, great views.

Did the cirque from Ida to Terra Tomah. Windy, but beautiful September day. I would do this again just for the solitude.

Ascent: From Cracktop, Descent: Via Forest Canyon and Terra Tomah
Route Climbed: Southwest Ridge from Cracktop Date Climbed: 1967 & 1994
Both times from Gore Range Overlook on Trail Ridge Road. The ridge has some pleasant, exposed scrambling and route finding. This route is a very long day with lots of up & down.

Pristine MountainFun mountain. I climbed this from Chief Cheley on a trip across the Continental Divide. Unreal beauty in this part of the Park. Great climb!
