Quick jaunt  Sucess!

Seventy five minutes from Newfound Gap on a crummy weather day. No views to speak of except on the way back when it started to clear up somewhat. When the BRP is closed the Smokies trailheads are still accessible though.

Wall Of Cloud  Sucess!

Tagged the summit of Kephart at the apex of a ~24-mile-round-trip hike up from Cherokee Orchard via Rainbow Falls, Mt. LeConte, and the Boulevard. Continued on to the Jumpoff in the hopes of seeing a view worth the trip... but nope. As I told the family of foreign tourists I met at the viewpoint, they don't call them the Smokies for nothing.

Winter Storm  Sucess!

Climbed it from Newfound Gap just as winter storm 'Electra' was baring in. I was pretty well soaked by the time I got back. I didn't go to the Jumpoff as there was no use. I wasn't going to get a view regardless.

To the Jumpoff  Sucess!

Hiked the Jumpoff trail over the summit, but haze rapidly rushed in between my visit to the Bunion and the Jumpoff. No views but the cliff was impressive to sense up close.

My son and I hiked the standard route from Newfound Gap to the top via the spur trail to the Jumpoff. We had a great hike and enjoyed the views from the Jumpoff as well as other spots along the way.

My first Smokies sixer  Sucess!

Went to the jumpoff in January with rime frost covering all the trees. Spectacular 1,000 ft cliff covering in ice. White covered mountains, vast rugged jungle wilderness and 80 mile visibility gave me a long lasting impression that day. This started me on exploring all the high mountains of the south. Very nice!

Via Alum Cave/Boulevard

We hiked it via Alum Cave and then taking The Boulevard back to the AT. We took the side trail to The Jumpoff. The Jumpoff is very very impressive.

Bagged?Tagged?! Whatever  Sucess!

To the top and over to the jump-off, which is a truly awe inspiring sight that definitely rivals Charlie's Bunion. Very easy little side hike off of the AT on the way to Le Conte or the Bunion.
