Ice Axe to the Neck
This one might actuall have been completed in 2000, think it was early (May) lots of spring avalanches. Went out specifically to climb this one. I remember a fairly fast approach then moving aside as spring wet slides went past us as we went up the gut. Lots of sloughing and a few that we had to pay attention too. Seemed endless grind but the snow was better then scree. Glissade almost 3/4 of the way down. In the process was messing about and my axe which was between my legs (don't bloody ask, I was young and stupid). It got caught and the handle went into my neck....By some weird fluke it cut/scraped my from the very center of my windpipe to the side by my ear. It drew blood....it shook me up.

First of the year
Got 2/3rds of the way up the right side of the route watching avalanches. Called off the summit when we had to cross a danger zone to achieve it. Great day out just the same. Plastic boots, crampons, snowshoes. The whole kit.

scree route
Tons of scree on this one. The views were, as always amazing though. Relaxed at the hot tub at the Mount Kidd RV park afterwards with a great view of our peak through the window.

Perfect Day
I had tried this mountain last year and with inexperience went the wrong way up and had to turn around. This year though I brought someone who had climbed it twice and there were no problems. By passing alot of the scree (still some near the top of the bowl) we stuck to the center-left of the bowl and advanced up scab on the way up. Scree on the way down was fun. Nice view of Assiniboine to the west from the summit.
Route Climbed: Kidd Scramble Date Climbed: October, 2004
Broke my hand days earlier and needed something to cheer me up. Although Mount Kidd did the trick, I thought this scramble was fairly uneventful. Being stuck in a bowl limited views for most of the day and I did not have a sense there was much wildlife in the area as well, being so close to Kananaskis Village. I give it a 2 star vote, but it is popular and on most peoples tick off list. Cheers
Route Climbed: Skree Pile Date Climbed: Aug ?? 1982
As I remeber it was raining the whole week that I spent in the peaks that August. This was one of the peaks that was possiable to get up when the weather was bad.
When I did it there was no golf course to ruin the view would hate to see what it looks like now.
This was also my first introduction to Rockey Mountian skree piles and after this peak and many others I have yet to find a skree pile I like.

Route Climbed: NORTH Summit Ascent (9,702 feet) Date Climbed: 9.8.2001Climbed to summit on a beautiful
September day w/ my good friend
Conn from Calgary, AB. Although the
views are killer .... I will never climb
this thing again - too much scree
for me. But the summit is always
worth it. Signed summit log. "Scree
Skiing" down was the best!
