Mount Kipp; Sue Lake...

Mount Kipp; Sue Lake...

I thought this a nice setting of three glacial tarns, the largest of which is called Sue Lake, and is snuggly nestled against Mount Kipp (8800'). And to the right of Sue Lake, it is a bit unusual to have two such tarns stacked, so to speak, on top of each other; but here they are, against an unnamed ridge. Photo by Vernon, September 7, 2007.

It is unusual to see lakes like that.

Re: cool photo

I was quite taken with the scene; it would have been nice had the day not been so gray, but I guess you take what you get. As a matter of interest, if I'm reading the map correctly the cliff below Sue Lake is about 600' high. Thanks for the comment!

Re: cool photo

The cliff looks pretty massive.
