Remote!  Sucess!

Long drive on rough roads, but worth it! We camped at Leidy Lake in our truck camper. Short hike to the pass from the lake and then a very steep ascent, but mostly on trail, to the summit. This entire mountain just seems like a big pile of dirt, not rock. Very unusual. Due to wildfires across the region, we didn't get the sublime view of the Tetons and could just barely make them out through the haze. Too bad ... Didn't see anyone else, except there was a truck parked in the better of two campsites by the lake overnight ... lame ... never saw the owner. Hiked with RDB.

I concur on the Teton views  Sucess!

You may be right about unrivaled Teton views. I climbed this at the start of hunting season, so I wore bright clothing and hoped for the best. Having a good 4wd, I drove right up to the saddle and headed straight up pretty much the way you delineate. While I was there, I hiked up Peak 9,680' for equally great views.

Hike with the Dogs  Sucess!

Nice intro to off-trail hiking. Went up with the wife and our two small dogs. Beautiful views of the Tetons, and completely isolated. The drive in is longer than it seems!

Mount Leidy  Sucess!

Nice hike up to Mount Leidy. The drive to get there took longer than expected. This is probably the reason why no one else was there. Saw two bull elk in the meadow below the summit.

Mt Leidy  Sucess!

So glad to find Mt Leidy on SP. Climbed with a few friends, and named my dog Leidy. After the Mt.

blissful panorama  Sucess!

Many times I have looked upon the amamzing panorama from the top of Leidy. I just found out the great Bob Sihler had made a page for it. The most fun for me was when the road to Leidy Lake was closed because of a massive mudslide for a few months. You had to park and then ride a bike all the way to the lake and the saddle above. One day I did not see a single person anywhere and the view was sublime. In June when everything is green, the view is beyond words.

Great views  Sucess!

Quick hike up to the summit. Outstanding view of the Teton, Wind River, and Gros Ventre ranges. Wildlife was abundant. Saw a moose grazing.
