Last of a 5-peak loop dayhike that also included Baden-Powell, Burnham, Throop and Hawkins.
With Travis. Took at least twice as long in the snow as it did during the summer two years ago.
Hike up to Baden Powell from Vincent Gap, plowed through a lot of snow. Then traversed the ridge to Burnham, Throop, then down Throop's north ridge to the Angeles Crest Highway (ACH) and up to Mount Lewis. THen hiked along hte ACH back to Vincent Gap.
Here is my GPS Track, Photos and Google Map.
Was doing a hike of Burnham, Throop, and Baden-Powell with a group. While waiting for everyone to assemble, I scooted up Lewis from Dawson Saddle, took about 15-20 minutes.
First climbed Throop and Burnham from Dawsons Saddle. Then took a cross country route along steep terrain from Burnham to Dawson. Nobody wanted Lewis so I made them wait while I ran up it. A fun day.
This was warm-up today for a loop hike that included Throop Peak, Mt. Hawkins, Copter Ridge, Middle Hawkins, and Mt. Islip. We started and ended at Islip Saddle.
