windy hike
From Herman TH, not much snow at all, easy hiking, strong wind, went up Parnassus, onto Bard, then continued to Robeson, retraced back and returned (had to rehike Bard and Parnassus) over Woods and Machebeuf. Easy bushwasck back down to the trail.

Loop - up Herman Gulch, down Watrous
Strange weather day! Clouds built quickly as we ascended the last 30 minute to the summit of Machebeuf. We headed on toward Woods, only to have an icy snow squall roll in. So we opted to descend from the ridge to Woods, only to have the squall blow out and bright blue sky replace it. This pattern repeated itself twice more on the descent. Sorry we missed Woods, but rather safe than sorry with the weather. This is a great dog hike! Think we ran into TheRealCarpeDM hiking with his pup. With Mikey and dogs Logan, Jackson and Gabby.
CMC Ararat training hike. We got Woods first, then took Machebeuf. We made a loop of it, we descended via Herman Gulch. Plenty of hikers on the Herman Gulch Trail.
